The Kelburn communal hub has been designed as a hub and social focal point for the expansion of the Kelburn glamping project. The building was constructed predominantly in timber in line with the ethos of the project. It will provide the main meeting space with shared cooking and washing up facilitates as well as showers, toilets and storage. The design includes an outdoor deck area to take advantage of the views towards the isle of Bute and Arran and the natural beauty of the wooded hillside location.

The building was constructed from a post and beam timber structure. The building is clad homegrown European larch cladding in a rain screen profile. Natural daylighting is provided by clerestories of polycarbonate and ground-level double-glazed viewing windows. The roof will be covered in grey metal profile sheeting. The majority of the building will be prefabricated in sections and modules and assembled on site.
