Bothanna cabins is a design and fabrication workshop, providing bespoke and product solutions to creating your perfect off grid
getaway. We work in collaboration with architects, engineers and carpenters who have a wealth of knowledge to turn your
vision into reality whether it be in a remote Scottish Glen or an in accessible urban garden.
Bothanna Cabins was born out of a passion for craftsmanship, sustainable design and a desire to reconnect with nature.
We believe that well designed, ethical timber buildings placed in extraordinary locations can help people reconnect with the
natural world and with themselves.
method of making
Bothanna Cabins provide a full bespoke design and build service, taking a project from the design stage through to the complete building on site.
Our approach is to design buildings that can be fabricated in our workshops in East Lothian before being delivered or erected on site. This method minimises site time, reduces the impact of unpredictable British weather, and guarantees a high build quality.
We specialise in timber construction where we us both traditional and contemporary timber fabrication methods to create buildings and structures that are light, strong and moveable allowing us to fabricate and transport our buildings over large distances.

Sustainability
At Bothanna we are passionate about protecting our environment and minimising our impact of the planet. We believe our buildings shouldn’t have a negative impact on the planet.
At Bothanna we are uncompromising in our use of locally sourced, natural and sustainable materials to create buildings that have has minimal environmental impact as possible.
At bothanna our aim is to create carbon neutral buildings . This will be achieved though the using timber as a majority building material that acts a natural carbon store and by working with clients to plant trees as part of there cabin developments
SPACE MATERIAL LIGHT
Inspired by the natural environment, we create spaces in which to retreat, recharge and reconnect.
We employ a wide range of traditional and contemporary making skills, including traditional oak framing, post and beam construction, lightweight timber engineering and cabinetry.
We design with consideration for form, natural light, functionality and environmental impact, to create buildings that are both beautiful and thoughtful.
